As a Dissertation Demystified member, you have access to 12 online modules that take you by the hand through every phase of the dissertation process from topic development to conducting a literature review to refining your methodology to data analysis to defense and beyond. Our modules are not simply a series of overly-academic lectures that reiterate the classes you take at university. Our modules actually teach you the exact skills and steps required to refine your topic, identify a research gap, efficiently conduct a literature review, get your proposal approved, implement your study, manage and analyze your data, and pass defense.
We also coach you through time-management, ensuring constant progress on your dissertation, setting expectations with your chair and committee, understanding chair/committee feedback, negotiating university-specific requirements, templates, and rubrics, and leveraging your dissertation study to make a real-world impact on society and your career.
Using our LAEA (Learn-Apply-Engage-Adapt) framework, in each module you will LEARN how to do an element of you dissertation. You will then APPLY the skills in the module by completing an activity that help you develop a section of your dissertation. After you submit the activity, you ENGAGE by submitting it for detailed feedback from coaches and peers. Finally, you will ADAPT the work you produced by applying feedback and integrating the assignment following your university's guidelines. At the end of each module you will have completed an entire chapter of your dissertation!

As a Dissertation Demystified member, you have unlimited access to weekly office hours with our PhD coaches. No more waiting indefinitely for an appointment or response from your chair! During office hours, you can drop by on Zoom, discuss your progress on our modules and activities, ask for advice on a chapter draft you are working on, break down feedback you received from your chair/committee, or any other topic relating to your dissertation or doctoral program.

We also offer a monthly program of seminars conducted by guest speakers who are respected academics and experts in their fields. Topics include the ethical use of AI in academic writing, workshops on data analysis (both qualitative coding and statistical analysis), and many other fascinating and relevant topics relating to being in a PhD/doctoral program, conducting research, and writing a dissertation.
